harmony amongst beasts (2/2004)
not too long ago
the world was a much smaller
place to inhabit
there was the grocers
the liquor locker
and the cube where I
put it all together
but 1200 miles
on the 10 east
and 2000 square feet
at a foot below sea level
changed all that
and while once I was
a caged bird
there is now
a feline
in here with me
but perhaps I should be grateful
at least there is more space
in the cage
and someone to keep me
from falling asleep at the wheel
